Another project that we recently completed was a large addition to a small house in Rosedale. We completely remodeled the house as well including new siding, windows, and refinishing of the existing hardwood floors. We were able to build the addition with all the right stuff to give us the 4 stars including: hard sustainable floors, fluorescent lighting, unvented attic, tested HVAC. One of the great thing about this project is that we were able to take a very small house (900 square feet) and completely upgrade it and, by adding a nice kitchen, family, master bed and bath turn it into a wonderful home for a family while staying within the floor area ratio to the lot. There are so many of these little houses that are in substandard energy shape here in Austin that potential for rebuilding and upgrades is huge and it all goes toward making our housing more energy efficient.
