I attended the EEBA ventilation and indoor air quality seminar last Thursday. It is amazing to think how the air in a tight home can be 2.5 times more polluted than the air outside. We live indoors more and our houses are tighter. Humans are the main polluter and moisture generator in their own homes This was a great seminar as it provided a lot of great information about indoor air and ventilation. This was the first time that I have ever seen an actual formula for calculating the CFM ventilation needs for houses: bathrooms and kitchens. If you are interested to have a simple basic formula let me know and I will post it. A lot of the material came out of the HVI web site: www.hvi.org. ERV's were discussed as well (Energy Recovery Ventilators) and I would like to be able to install these with our HVAC systems as they do remove moisture from the house.
